Oliver 0-3 Months

The last three months have flown by... Oliver started out so small...just sleeping, eating, pooping, and cuddling...and now is so full of life.  He is growing so fast!  We are really enjoying everyday and find it amazing how much he changes everyday.

February 2010

2/16- Oliver gets his newborn photos done.

2/17- Umbilical cord falls off

2/20- We give him his first bath.  We were so nervous!

2/22- His 2 week checkup.  Weighing in a 9.3lbs.  Porkchop!

2/26- Oliver & I go to the mall for his first play date.  We meet Jenn & Neena.  Neena is one month older than Oliver.

March 2010

3/7- Dad gives him his first bottle (breast milk of course!)

3/8- 1 month old.

3/9- Weighing in at 10.8lbs.

3/11- We take a trip to the doctor.  We see Dr. Stoll at Mercy Pediatric.  She confirms what we suspect, he has reflux.  We also decide that he is having trouble digesting the dairy in my breast milk.  We start Prevacid and I quit dairy.
3/15- Oliver smiles at mom.  I was in disbelief.  Such a cutie!

3/20- First outside walk.  It was a bit chilly but he loved the fresh air.
3/23- Weighing in at 11.8lbs.  Gma Gail gives him a bottle.  Mom & Oliver hang out with Cindy & Sawyer.  Sawyer is 9 days younger than Oliver.

3/25-Aunt Lucy visits- she is so good with you.  She spends a lot of time holding & cuddling with Oliver.  Mom gets a chance to get caught up with things around the house.

3/26- He starts really enjoying being in his swing.
3/27- Oliver smiles at dad.  He is sleeping in pack n play and more often than not, on mom's chest.  He is eating every 2-3 hours, spitting up frequently, loves his pacifier and the ceiling fan.  He has full eyelashes and big lips like his mom & dad.

3/29- First road trip.  We go to Austin, MN to visit Denny.  He was working on a wind mill farm.  Oliver gives lots of smiles!

3/30- First of many trips to the dog park. Oliver didn't even startle when the dogs barked...He must have been used to it considering all the dog park trips while he was in the womb.

3/31- He gets his picture taken with the Easter Bunny.  

Then we go to the zoo with Cindy, Sawyer, Neena, and Jenn.  It was a blast!

April 2010

4/1- First trip to the park.  We went with Cindy, Sawyer, Neena, and Jenn.  The babies laid out on blankets and starred at the trees.  We got them naked and they LOVED it.  It was a lot of fun.  Oliver starts drooling.

4/4- 1st Easter

4/8- 2 months old!

4/10- Finds his hands!!  They are his new best friend..

4/13- 2 month checkup.  Weighing in at 12.11lbs (75th%)and is 23 inches (50%) long.  Gets his first round of vaccines.  Also... falls off bed.  Scares Denny & I.  He's ok though- cries for a second and then gives out lots of smiles.

4/18- Goes to bed at 8pm, gets up every 3 hours to nurse and wakes up for the day between 6-7a.  He is still sleeping with me. It feels so natural.  He loves his fishes on his swing, monkeys on his mobile, his crinkly book, his hands, starting to grab things, smiles often, and recognizes Grandma Gail, Grandpa Frank, and Grandma Deb.  He is pooping 1-2x a day instead of 10x a day.  Baby acne is almost all cleared up.  He still loves his pacifier and is starting to kick at things.  He is started to become interested in his activity mat.  He star on his activity mat keeps his attention for a long time- he is amazed by the bright lights.

4/23- Grandma Deb watches Oliver so Denny & I can have our first night out.  He sits in his high chair for the first time (not really into it yet).  Really likes being outside, playing in his crib, and on his activity mat.  One of his favorite things to do is get naked and talk while on the changing table.

4/28- Rolls over from his stomach to his back... Also, hold on to his pacifier.

May 2010

5/1- First trip to the Farmers Market.  He is amazed with all the people & music.
5/3- I go back to work full time.  Oliver spends the week with Grandma & Grandpa Walker.  Refuses to take a bottle from anyone....Only eats when I go to nurse him over my lunch hour.

5/4- Very alert.  Smiles, Coos, holds head up during tummy time.  Rolled over again.
5/6- Finally takes a bottle from grandma while I'm at work.
5/8- Have 3 month pictures taken.

Rolls over from back to side.  Talks sooo much.  Loves having things in his hands and puts fingers in mouth and sometimes both his fingers and his pacifier.  Talented boy.  Sleeps 8-130a.  Longest stretch yet!

5/11- Sleeps 8p-3a.
5/12- Eating 4oz every 3 hours while at grandmas.  Recognizes bottle & pacifier.
5/17- 2nd round of shots.  He does so well- such a trooper.
5/21- While I'm at work Oliver is at Grandma Gails or with dad.  He really likes going on walks, holds his head up without any problem and puts pressure on his forearms.  Goes through growth spurt- eats non stop and is sleeping a lot.

5/22- Our nephew, Shannon's High School Graduation.

Play date at Jenn's house. KT and Addi come too.  The babies play on blankets- stare at the trees and talk, drool, and hang out.  Rolling over from his stomach to his side... and he finds his feet.
