Today we went to Howell's Pumpkin Patch with Frank & Gail. We were very excited to show Oliver the goats and horses along with going on the wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch.
It was a good time- the weather was perfect and it was fun to see Oliver take in all the sights.

Perfect fall day!
We always enjoy going to Denny's parents...and especially when dinner is involved. =) Saturday was 100% rain so we were excited when the sun was shining on Sunday. Oliver loves swinging and being outside. He always giggles and laughs in his swing- he is too cute.

Fun at Grandma's
Oliver spends Wednesday's at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He always has so much fun (Chloe does too). Denny and I are very thankful that he has such amazing grandparents- we couldn't feel more blessed with our small, but perfect family.
this boy can get around
Oliver has been army crawling for a few weeks now.... I keep thinking that he'll actually crawl soon but I'm starting to think he is content army crawling and won't progress to "real" crawling. Either way works for me. He can get just about anywhere he wants... I turn my back for 2 seconds and he's gone!
His favorite things to crawl after are all the cords by the entertainment center (now the body pillow blocks the area) and Chloe's toys. I think Chloe has some sort of game she plays with him because she drops her toys in front of him and next thing I know he's got his arms around her bone....Geez, these two are going to be trouble! =)
I can show Oliver my phone (his #1 favorite toy) while he is in the living room and then set it down in the kitchen and he crawls there quickly...He knows what he wants and isn't afraid to get it!?!

last one to find out that Oliver can hold his bottle!
Oliver didn't finish his bottle at daycare so I decided that I'd give it to him before bed.... I placed his hands around it and there he was cute as can be holding his bottle all by himself...and like a pro for that matter! In addition to holding his bottle he also bit the nipple, tugged on the nipple, squirted milk around- pretty much finding several ways to play with his bottle. It was adorable!
I sent Denny and Grandma a text with the big news....and they already knew this. No one told me and since I never give him a bottle I had no idea. I was surprised and excited nonetheless.

Oliver & Finn
Tiff and I had a garage sale and it turned out quite successfully. We got rid of a lot of stuff and made some cash- win/win. Tiff has two boys- Oliver (just turned 2) and Finn (3 weeks younger than O). Finn and Oliver seemed to have a good time together and both boys played nicely during the garage sale.

Oliver sits up on his own!
Today we laid Oliver down in his crib for his nap....and heard him playing....came in and he was sitting up playing with his blanket! What a big boy! So now he can army crawl and go from his belly to sitting up! Yay for Oliver!!!

Sick again....
Last weekend we made another trip to the urgent care center because Oliver had been crying for about 10 hours and couldn't get comfortable enough to rest. His fever got to 102.7 and after 4 hours we finally got it down. They put him back on antibiotics for an ear infection which I wasn't happy about. He was JUST on antibiotics for an ear infection. UGH. Anyway, the following morning he was back to his old happy self and has been great since.
We went to our Pediatrician today to see if he really did/does have an ear infection and it turns out it's fluid behind both ears. She said we can finish the antibiotic or not- it's our call. Either way we have to go back in 3 weeks to see if the fluid has drained.... I'm so bummed. I don't want him having ear issues although I realize it is common. I guess he can't be healthy ALL the time. Nonetheless, he is in great spirits and seems to be feeling fine.

7 Monthday!
Each day Oliver shows more & more of his personality. He is such a happy boy and our hearts melt every time we see him smile. He does this screaming thing when he doesn't get his way or you take something away from me...and then two seconds later he is distracted and moves on to something else (gotta love their short attention span). He goes to bed on his own around 8pm, gets up at 1230a to eat and then again between 3:30-4:30a to have another little snack...and is up for the day around 7ish. He LOVES the animals, being outside, swinging, and is super ticklish. He eats solids a couple times a day- he favorites are the veggies with sweet potatoes still coming in first. He also has eaten a raw apple and nectarine- both of which he really enjoyed. I've also given him some applesauce and he gobbled it up! He is growing up way too fast.... We are so thankful for the charming and loving lil man we have.

Update
We haven't been doing too many exciting things lately! The weather has been so warm & muggy or rainy that we've been staying indoors a lot. When we can get outside the mosquitoes swarm us so fast that we head back indoors. Hopefully fall comes soon and we can spend a lot of time outside before winter (yes, I said winter).
So Oliver is SO close to crawling that I'm now a little nervous. He can scout around enough now to get any where he wants to go so he is all over the place. Once he starts crawling I'm sure we're in trouble. He'll be into everything!
He is so interested in all the sights, sounds, textures, people, and animals. I love to watch him taking it all in. He is a true observer and is always inspecting things like he is analyzing it- it's too cute.
For the last 4 nights Oliver has been sleeping in his crib....I think it may be harder on me then him. I like having him close to me. He is sleeping pretty well in this crib- goes to bed around 8p, nurses at 12 and again at 4a and is up around 6am. We hang out while I get ready for work and then he takes a short nap around 7a.
He is doing a great job with eating. He loves sweet potatoes and squash along with most vegetables. So far he is not into fruits much but will do the bananas every so often. He also likes these rice crackers called mum-mums. We also have been giving him milk in his sippy cup and he LOVES it. He gets so excited when he sees his sippy cup and tries so hard to drink the milk (most of it runs down his chin though). Soon he'll figure it out.
He has taken quite the interest in faces (trying to pull my cheeks off), animals (petting Chloe), and pulling hair (not moms but anyone else's that he can get his hands on). He still enjoys being outside. Anytime he is fussy or in a mood we can just take him outside and he seems to forget what ever was bothering him. We got a swing for Grandma & Grandpa's house and he just laughs & laughs when he is swinging.
I look at him and see how much he changes everyday and it's happening too fast. I can see my little boy growing up and it almost makes me sad...He is so precious and sweet- We're truly blessed and I'm reminded of that every day.
